Tavistock BID will come to the end of its current five-year term at the end of August 2021. A third term can begin on 1st September 2021.

Since 2011, Tavistock BID has delivered projects and services that businesses identified as priorities; a list of achievements can be found within the business plan or here.

Tavistock BID would like to thank all businesses and other partners in the town for the time and support they have given over the past ten years which have enabled these initiatives to be successfully delivered.

Earlier this year, in anticipation of the BID’s first term drawing to a close, Tavistock BID consulted widely with circa 300 businesses in the town and with head offices addresses where appropriate. 40% of those businesses engaged in the consultation and, encouragingly, 83% of respondents said they supported a third term and would vote ‘yes’.

Under BID legislation, Tavistock BID can renew for a further five years from 2021 – 2026 subject to a new business plan being published and a ballot being held. Our third term business plan has been shaped by the views of our levy paying businesses and can be found here

Please read through this business plan, taking note of what’s new for BID 3, our vision, aims and objectives and the projects and services they intend to deliver, all informed by our business community. Those projects which were prioritised as most important by levy payers have been included in the third term business plan under the following themes:

Marketing & Promotions

Enhancing the Town’s Visual Appeal

Business Support & Communications

Tavistock BID will generate circa £413,000 of funding over the five-year term through levy income, supplemented by circa £111,000 of additional contributions, sponsorship and grants. By working closely with partners, Tavistock BID will make the most effective use of shared resources.

The notice of ballot will be issued on 3rd June 2021 with ballot papers arriving by 17th June 2021 for a 28-day postal ballot. All votes need to be received by CIVICA on or before Thursday 15th July 2021 at 5pm.

We hope businesses will be minded to to vote YES √ to Tavistock BID being renewed for a third term. This will enable Tavistock to achieve its vision of creating a vibrant world heritage town with a connected community that is a dynamic place to live, shop, work and do business; the ultimate countryside getaway and hub for adventure.

Please remember, a ‘No’ vote will mean that all the town’s project and services currently delivered as well as those proposed in our business plan will end and it is unlikely that any other organisation will pick up the shortfall.
