"St Petersburg and Moscow joined by a great waterway" A Talk by David Rippon

This fully illustrated talk will review a journey starting in St Petersburg along the rivers and waterways to Moscow. During the journey, the historical and cultural aspects of the two major cities will be reviewed including visits to the major sites of interest. 

Included in the talk will be visits to many towns and villages on the route where opportunities were available to see some of the rural aspects and home life of the local residents. Some interesting details of the journey include the building of parts of the waterway and also the aspect of the climate on parts of the system. 

The final part of the talk will include a visit to the most significant areas in Moscow itself.
