MORWELLHAM QUAY

Morwellham is an award-winning attraction which forms part of a World Heritage site, featuring an historic port, village, copper mine and railway on the banks of the River Tamar, just four miles west of Tavistock.

Discover this lost world with the help of an interactive living history team and experience life how it would have been when the port was a bustling hive of activity.

A highlight is the unique narrow-gauge Mine Railway which enables you to travel by train along the banks of the River Tamar before venturing deep underground in the George & Charlotte copper mine to experience the harsh working conditions of Victorian miners.

Try on costumes and look like a Victorian lady gent or child, visit the pottery, animals and historic wooden sailing ketch Garlandstone. Escape the hustle and bustle of 21st century life as you wander through this enchanting village and countryside beyond. Relax recharge and refresh in the Ship Inn; our shop is stocked with a wide range of gifts including iron work and pottery made on site.
