"The Iceman: Prehistoric Murder in the Alps?" A Talk by Andrew Thompson

Ever since two mountaineers discovered his body in a melting glacier, the Iceman has been an international sensation. The press named him Ötzi after the Ötztal area of Austria where he was found. Ötzi and his belongings were preserved in the ice for over 5000 years.

This illustrated talk tells the story of how Ötzi was discovered and what archaeologists have learned from him about everyday life in the Copper Age. And it discusses the latest theories about the man himself - who was Ötzi, why was he in the high mountains and how did he die there?
