Here Come The Otters!

Tavistock is thrilled to be taking part in this year's Moor Otters Dartmoor Trail, starting from the 28th May 2021.

Pop on down to Tavistock to find 3 of the 81 Otters that are featured across Dartmoor. These wonderfully colourful and unique Otters have been designed by local and national artists in spirit of creating a powerful public art project for everyone to enjoy.

Tavistock is lucky enough to have not just 1, but 3 beautiful Otters featured throughout the town. This trail is a fantastic, fun day out that everyone can enjoy! Not only is it an opportunity to wander around the historic town of Tavistock and enjoy its eclectic mix of shops and businesses, but also a chance to enjoy some one of a kind art.

This fantastic collection of sculptures will be featured from the 28th May until the end of the Summer, where they will be auctioned off to ‘otter-spotters’ as well as art collectors and individuals. Not only will these Otters be heading off to new homes, the money made from this project will be used to raise funds for Donate For Dartmoor, an important charity that helps to protect the natural beauty of Dartmoor.

Check out this map of Tavistock, showing where you will be able to find the Otters. You can also start planning your full Dartmoor Otter Trail here
