CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL
4th-15th Dec 2020
Tavistock's Annual Christmas Tree Festival will have a slightly different feel this year as the trees are
coming out into the town!
The windows of businesses in TAVISTOCK will be ablaze with colour as the Alternative Tavistock Christmas Tree Festival takes to the streets.
The Festival begins on December 4th, shortly after the town re-opens following the November lockdown. The annual festival is organised by the Friends of St Eustachius but this year, owing to the current Covid-19 guidelines, the number of trees on display in the church will be limited. The church will be hosting a small ‘Schools TreeFest’ which showcases creations from 6 local schools. At the time of going to press, opening times for the ‘Schools TreeFest’ are still to be confirmed but up-to-date information can be found at on Facebook and the church website.
The remainder of the trees will be brought out into the town and displayed in business windows, bringing some much-needed comfort and joy to the community and its many visitors. Tavistock BID has been assisting the church with the project. BID Manager, Janna Sanders, said ‘The annual Christmas Tree Festival is an important part of the festive calendar and an essential fundraiser for the church. We are working with St. Eustachius to ensure that Christmas cheer will still be brought to town with this alternative festival and it is a great opportunity for the businesses community to be involved.
